Shanghai-style Spare Ribs
(Serves 4 people)

Ingredients:

  • 1kg spare ribs cut into finger length pieces
  • 3 spring onions, chopped
  • 3 inches ginger, sliced finely
  • 1 litre water
Seasonings:
  • 6 tablespoons Kwong Cheong Thye Superior Dark Soya Sauce
  • 6 tablespoons sugar
  • 4 tablespoons Gekkeikan Sake
Method:
  1. Put all the ingredients into a big pan, cover and bring to boil
  2. Lower heat and allow to simmer for 40 minutes, turning the spare ribs over every now and then
  3. Remove lid and put the pan on high heat for 20 minutes, or until the sauce thickens
  4. Serve immediately
